Emma has made significant progress in the mobility stakes. In the last week and a half she has gone from only being able to sit if you put her into a sitting position, to being able to sit all by herself, from lying down. She also crawls in spurts on a need basis. Last week she was very cute and if she wanted to crawl somewhere she would and then stop short and basically collapse onto the ground and stretch to where she wanted to be. I tried capturing this on video but she would not perform for the camera. Now she is more confident and crawling more and sitting all the time. See the third video below.
Dylan has also progressed quite a bit and changed a bit. He now has more hair and his face is more defined. He can get up on all fours but is not very balanced and doesn’t really crawl although he shows potential. He just sways back and forth.
Emma’s latest trick is to pull herself up into a standing position. She does this in her cot. Only one problem she can’t find the way down and then hangs on to the side for dear life with her little legs straight and her fingers holding on, screaming her head off. You have to help her down. This has made going to bed a lot more challenging as given half a chance she is standing against the side of her cot. She likes to stare into Dylan’s cot. He thinks its hilarious and chuckles at her. I’m trying to teach Emma how to get down. She is starting to understand but it will still take a while. She will figure it out for herself.
Their weights are basically unchanged. They are growing in length and have started loosing some of their puppy fat. They now typically eat 1 1/2 jars of number 2 Purity and have moved on the 2nd foods cereals for breakfast.
Here they love to knock over a tower of blocks:
