It’s already over a week ago that Emma and Dylan turned 11 months. I happened to take the day off work so we spent some time together in the afternoon. It was a lovely sunny afternoon. We decided to feed the kids their first Marie biscuit. We caught a couple of good photo’s of Dylan trying out the Marie biscuits. It was actually quite funny. He was more interested in the bowl that the biscuits were in, than the biscuits themselves. He kept tossing all of them onto the mats. Emma had a great time too after she learnt that she is meant to put the Marie biscuit in her mouth. A couple of months ago, where they put everything into their mouths, they are now pretty much off that and so don’t try to put new things into their mouth anymore, much.
We had a lovely afternoon the day before where we went out for our engagement anniversary for lunch. We decided to celebrate on the Sunday after our anniversary and took the kids with us for the lunch. They have become very good with lunch outings. We tend to let them finish their morning sleep, change them and then go out to lunch. During the lunch we can feed them their Purity, while we nibble on a starter and then feed them their bottles before our main course arrives. This way they are fed and content and allow us to eat while they relax in their pram. Of cause when we get home they are not to keen to have their afternoon sleep and then to want to play for the rest of the afternoon. This results in them being very tired before and during their dinner.
Emma has now completely lost interest in her dummy. She no longer sleeps with it nor does she want it during the day. This particularly means that she sleeps better at night. She is also getting better at going to sleep by herself, which Dylan is an expert at.
They are now really starting to grow quickly. We start to understand what people mean when they say that their children grow so quickly.
Next week we are planning on taking them on another holiday. After much discussion and debate we eventually decided to go on another driving holiday, not because of the Volcanic cloud from Iceland, but because we are just not ready to deal with flying and renting a car on the other side. We are going to a hotel in Dullstroom.
Tomorrow we are going to go and visit their potential school, Tinity, for an open day. The school is already full up for children born in 2008 so one has to plan ahead.
